Privacy

Your video never leaves your device. This page explains what Capsly handles, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.

The short version

What stays on your device

The video you pick is read locally for the preview and for the MP4 render. It is never sent to a server. If you skip transcription, nothing is uploaded at all. Captions and styling are stored in your browser as a project snapshot, so you can close the tab and continue later by re-picking the same file.

What we upload

Pressing Transcribe extracts the audio track in your browser and uploads only that audio to Cloudflare R2, temporary object storage. The file exists only to send the audio to Deepgram for speech-to-text. It is deleted immediately after transcription, whether the request succeeds or fails. A 7-day lifecycle rule on the bucket removes anything orphaned by a crash.

What we store about you

Payment

The beta is free and no card is collected. If paid plans arrive, this page will describe the payment provider and what it collects before anything is charged.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate page views. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile across other sites. There are no ad pixels.
